How do I visit the Ferrari factory in Italy?
Just outside the small town of Maranello, Italy lies the Mecca of the automobile world: the Ferrari factory. Many Ferrari owners plan pilgrimages to this hallowed destination, but are unable to find much information on how to arrange a factory visit, what to do when you're there, what other points of interest are close by, etc. This FAQ will attempt to answer the most-asked questions for those wishing to make this pilgrimage, based on the experience of pilgrims who have gone before them.
How do I arrange a factory tour?
You can either arrange a factory tour through your local dealer, or you can attempt to contact the factory directly. Most owners find it easier to work through their local dealer. In either case, you are strongly encouraged to make an appointment, as the factory hardly ever allows access to anyone they aren't expecting. The factory's address and phone number are: Via Abetone Inferiore, 41053 Maranello (011-39-536-949259).
How do I get to the factory?
Under construction.
Where do I stay once I'm there?
There are a number of hotels in Maranello. The Hotel Forte Agip (059-848221) has hotel personnel that speaks English (more rare in
Modena than in major cities). (Under construction looking for more hotel info).
Where do I eat once I'm there?
Eating in Maranello is almost as important as visiting the factory. There are many wonderful places to experience the flavors of this region. Most notable among them are:
Cavallino - favorite restaurant of Enzo Ferrari, just across from the factory
Ristorante La Fazenda (059-460113)- about halfway between Modena and Maranello. They are on the Tangenziale Nuova Estense.
Fini (059-223314) - in Modena.
Europa 92 - also in Modena, and owned by Luciano Pavarotti.
Ristorante Lauro - in Modena (on the same street as the Maserati factory).
What other car-related destinations can I visit while I'm there?
Since so many of the world's greatest auto-related artisans are relatively close to the Ferrari factory, most enthusiasts visit other car places while in the region. Here is a list of contact information for other interesting spots:
